If you are looking for a golf course that is truly challenging and way different from those that you have experienced, the Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club is the place for you. The Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club was founded in 1979 and for over 40 years, this has been the go-to sports club for sports enthusiasts. The present golf course that sits amidst the rolling sand dunes was set up in 1990 and has since been a sought after golf course to hone one’s golf skills. It is also aesthetically more pleasing than the other golf courses in the country.
What sets the golf course of Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club different from the others around the world is that it is brown instead of green. Yeah, you heard it right. This is a sand course and not a grass course, but never for a moment think that the course is completely devoid of grass. With its sand and greens, and the desert terrain and vegetation, this golf course would provide you with a unique feeling. What makes the experience here all the more challenging is playing amidst the natural setting and changing breezes. The course also offers an extra challenge to one’s fitness as its topography doesn’t allow the use of a buggy. This requires you to stretch your legs and the hills and valleys would surely test the stamina and endurance of the leg muscles.
